Established in 1998 we are one of the largest independent providers of expert psychological consultancy in child and family law proceedings in the South East. We currently take upwards of 300 referrals each year from the family courts, solicitors and from more than 22 local authorities. Over the last twenty years we have developed a particular specialty in undertaking psychometric, cognitive and capacity assessments of adults whose children are subject to child protection investigations and public law care proceedings. This is now our principal area of work.
We can advise on a parent's cognitive functioning and preferred learning style and on whether they have a learning disability; we can advise professionals on how best to work with a parent so as to achieve the best possible outcome; we can assess a parent's capacity to conduct legal proceedings and to instruct their solicitor and we can make recommendations as to how a parent can best be supported so as to maximise their litigation capacity.
